Global Engineering Outreach helps Build Homes on the Navajo Nation

Aug 30 | The Navajo Post

When it comes to volunteering, lately the Navajo Nation has seen a boost from non profit organizations coming to the reservation to pitch in. Like the BYU’s Global Engineering Outreach Club, also known as (GEO) they worked with ‘Design Build Bluff’ to help construct homes for Navajo families in Bluff, Utah.

Loren Crank Sr., a local Navajo also taught students about the Navajo culture, “My father always told me to run not walk son” said Crank, while explaining different aspects of the way the Navajos live and teach their children.

The homes were designed by graduate architecture students from the University of Utah, who are partners in the Design Build Bluff project. Glenn Beck, also was on the reservation over the weekend, his organization brought two 18 wheelers of food.
