NAVAJO COUPLE SUES TOP DECK BAR

FARMINGTON – Dustin and Veronica Curley, members of the Navajo Nation filed a lawsuit on Wednesday in 11th Judicial District Court of New Mexico. The couple is claiming in the lawsuit that Top Deck security or bouncers have a pattern of assaulting Native Americans.

Dustin Curley is alleging the assault place took on March 17th, he claims the Top Deck bouncers beat him up and now has permanent damages to right eye and face, reported the Daily Times.

Top Deck Bar is a two story building located near downtown Farmington, the owners are Susan and Matthew Douglas, they also own Cooper Penny. these bars have been very popular among the residence of San Juan County and according to Farmington Police, in since May of 2011 they have responded to Top Deck 270 times.

Christian Hatfield, the attorney representing the Curleys encourages other to come forward if they have been assaulted by Top Deck employees.
