MILLCREEK, UT – Michelle Davida Harvey, 29, faced second degree murder charges for allegedly killing Carlos Peney Mose- a famed tour guide from Monument Valley on the Navajo reservation. Authorities say she committed suicide on Monday Feb. 11, reported the Salt Lake Tribune.

Benji McMurray, an assistant public defender for Harvey said, “We were preparing to go to trial on May 6 and continue to assert her innocence,” and said they were all ‘profoundly saddened’ by this tragedy.

Back in January, Prosecutors say Harvey and Carlos were in an altercation because he lit her clothes on fire. That is when she grabbed a revolver and shot him, killing Carlos.

As the trail went on Harvey struggled, she ended up in a half way house and was release by a judge who gave her permission to live with family members. She had two children.
